Removal of Confidential Data
From Copier Hard Drives
With the convergence of digital imaging and printing technologies, your leased office equipment and other multi-functional products contain hard drives full of confidential data. Core Print Solutions offers options to help ensure security of your confidential data.
Prior to Installation:
Prior to installing your device, make sure you consider adding accessories to help insure your data is safe. All of our leased or purchased networked copiers and MFP’s can be equipped with data protection accessories commonly known as HDD overwrite kits:
- Most manufacturers offer advanced encryption functionality which provides on-the-fly encryption and decryption of data written to the device’s hard drive. The data overwrite and encryption kits ensure that all data is erased after every fax, copy, scan and print job in order to prevent the latent storage of valuable data on the device.
- Data protection packages also include IP security with large IP address ranges, which provides protection from scanning and attacks, and support for authentication and confidentiality.
- Other security features such as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), IP Filtering and SMB Signing can protect data traveling to and from copiers and ensure the integrity of all communication.
Lease Return or Trade In:
As part of our standard Core Print Solutionslease end return or trade in procedure:
- When the networked copier or MFP is upgraded or traded in, in conjunction with a replacement lease or sale of replacement equipment; our In-House Technical team utilizes embedded data overwrite functions to erase data stored in all spaces of the device hard drives. The function also resets all passwords saved in the RAM to factory settings, preventing leak of data.
- Upon completion and close out of your equipment lease, our team will provide you with documentation that states we have secured the data from your previous equipment.
- Additionally, customers are eligible to receive our Hard Drive Security Service at a fee of $150/unit, in cases where a networked copier or MFP is returned to Core Print Solutions:
- If the unit(s) are not replaced with the lease or sale of new equipment
- If Core is performing a complimentary lease return of equipment that was not originally sold or leased by Ross Imaging
